Our Identity

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement to restore truth in a world of opposing opinions. As part of the Body of Christ, we welcome all to partake at the Lord’s table.

Matthew 11:15

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Our Vision

To uplift the name of Jesus.

John 12:32

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Our Mission

The mission of The Heritage Fellowship Church of San Antonio is to show the Love and Grace of God as we fulfill the “Great Commission” by boldly declaring the message of this great Gospel of Jesus Christ by loving, witnessing, and serving from the threshold of our church to the ends of the earth.

Matthew 28:19-20

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Our Confession

As members of the Body of Christ, we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world.

Matthew 16:16 – And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Our Beliefs

The Bible is the inspired word of God without error.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Godhead consists of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

1 John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Jesus was with God before the beginning of the world.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Philippians 2:6

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit of God.

Luke 1:34-35

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Matthew 1:18

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Jesus came into the world and took on the fleshly body of man.

Philippians 2:7-8

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Romans 8:3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Hebrews 4:15

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin

Jesus died on the cross, was crucified and buried, arose from the dead after 3 full days, ascended to Heaven and now sits at the right hand of God.

Luke 23:46

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Luke 24:6

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

Mark 16:19

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead.

Matthew 25:31- 34

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world

2 Timothy 4:1

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom

We believe in repentance from sins and subsequent atonement by the blood of Jesus Christ for the propitiation of the sins of the world.

Matthew 4:17

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Romans 5:6-10

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.   For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Hebrews 9:14

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:28

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation

By grace, we obtain salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten son.

John 1:12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 3:15-17

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We believe in baptism by water and baptism by the holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

John 3:5

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

The indwelling of The Holy Spirit.

John 14:17

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

1 Corinthians 3:16

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
